| The Norfolk City Union of the King's Daughters is proud to present
the 23rd Annual Holly Festival of Trees.
The first Festival was held in 1983 at the Cavalier Hotel in
Virginia Beach. Since then, Holly Festival of Trees has become
one of the area’s favorite holiday traditions, ushering in the
holiday season each year with a dazzling display of beautifully
and uniquely decorated trees and wreaths and a truly enchanting
gingerbread village The Luncheon and Fashion Show is an annual
sell-out. The Black-tie Gala with Grand Auction is a spirited
event and a highlight each year, and the Children’s Cocoa with
Santa is a delightful event for the whole family. The Festival,
themed “Visions of Sugarplums,” will be held Friday, November
18 through Saturday, November 19, 2005 and we are fortunate to
have secured the Norfolk
Yacht and Country Club as our setting.
Each year the Holly Festival Committee reviews information about
equipment or programs for which CHKD needs funding and chooses
one to which we devote our energy. This year we are dedicating
our efforts toward the purchase of much needed pediatric cribs.
They are state of the art medical devices used in general and
intensive care units; 41 are needed at a cost of $7,000 each.
The Holly Festival Committee would like to raise the money needed
to purchase all of the cribs asked of us by our hospital. |
